| Personal History | Born 2347 on Bajor, Tebo's family was poor and mostly malnourished. He wasn't expected to live past his first year. Surprisingly, he thrived and his family's fortunes changed enough for them to live a bit better. Tebo became very athletic, to the point that he worked from a young age to gain muscle and obtain a certain physique and he grew up with a marked interest in the sciences, especially biology. Having not been able to obtain the requisite education for Starfleet Academy, Tebo opted to enlist in Starfleet and obtain the training he desired in exchange for his service. He enlisted in 2368 and reported to training at the Starfleet Technical Services Academy on Mars. Halfway through his training, he had to be recycled due to non-passing grades. He had to start over again with the next class and, with what he had learned the first time through, passed with much better scores. Despite what many might think, his instructors very much wanted him to pass and they all threw him a very small graduation party. It lasted all of 30 minutes, as they couldn't be seen as choosing a favorite, but they were all extremely proud of his success. His first posting was almost a dream job for a scientist--the USS Leeds, a Nebula class ship with a mission for science. During his three years on board, he was afforded several opportunities to learn much more about biology and could not have been happier. Upon promotion to PO2 he was assigned to the USS Goddard, a Korolev class vessel. While it was a sizeable vessel, there were fewer opportunities for a biologist there. At the first opportunity, he requested a transfer to any other science vessel in need of his services. In 2377 he transferred to the USS Protean where he hoped he would be given more opportunities to continue his work. |
