| Personal History | Born in 2349 on Gaspar VII, Victoria was always surrounded by Federation technical equipment and computers as her mother was an engineering officer who would often take her work home with her. From a young age, she was quite adept at working on the computers and became very skilled at working on them, just as her mother did. By age 14 she had surpassed her mother's skills in some areas and would often assist her in her work. When she turned 17, her mother pressed her to attend Starfleet Academy, but Victoria resisted. She respected her mother immensely and knew that she was an exemplary officer, but Victoria always seemed to resent how, even in the current day and age, many officers seemed to believe they were far superior to others, to include enlisted Starfleet personnel, solely because of their rank. At age 18, she finally agreed to attend the Technical Services Academy. In 2367 she left for Mars and excelled in her training of computer systems, sometimes surpassing the knowledge of the training staff. She graduated as an E3, Crewman, and was assigned to Starbase 63 as a computer engineer. She made large strides in her work and by the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class her department chief suggested to the base CO that she be sent to warrant officer training. After completion of her training, the newly frocked Warrant Officer Sparks was stationed on the USS Ulysses. Two years later, she was promoted to Staff Warrant Officer and then the USS Protean in 2376. |
