| Personal History | Born on Acamar III in 2348, Maurek was kept sheltered from learning very much about the Federation, or Starfleet in particular, and was often disciplined when she inquired about either. She was a bright young girl and did well in her Acamarian studies, but never stopped asking about the Federation, no matter the corrective actions taken when she did so. At 19, she left Acamar III and headed straight to Earth to enroll in the academy. Unfortunately, due to her limited technical knowledge, her application was rejected. This didn't deter her, instead, she enrolled in the Starfleet Technical Services Academy on Mars. She was determined to be a member of Starfleet, whether as an officer or enlisted, and was accepted. Upon graduation, she was assigned to Earth Spacedock in the security department. She was excited to be on such a massive station with so much to do and learn and took advantage of that at every possibility. Luckily, her department head enjoyed her enthusiasm and helped her as much as possible. Upon reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer, she felt the need to serve on a starship and was allowed a transfer to the USS Protean, where she began her new career as the ships Master-At-Arms. |
