| Personal History | Born 2253 in Sadorah City, El-Auria, Gemma was lucky enough to live on her home planet before the Borg invasion that all but erased her entire race. Gemma and her family had moved off-world in 2289, just four years before the Borg invasion. The loss hit their entire family hard. The family moved to Risa where her parents worked as professional holophotographers, which worked out well on a major vacation destination planet. Gemma, herself, has held many occupations including, but not limited to: journalist, personal assistant, waitress, comedian, and pastry chef. After being planet-bound for thirty-some years, Gemma decided to get out and see the universe. At the ripe old age of 115, Gemma enlisted in Starfleet, attending training at the Starfleet Technical Services Academy on Mars. Upon completion of training, she was posted to the USS Challenger, a Galaxy class ship, in flight operations. With her life experiences, Gemma rocketed through the enlisted ranks and, in 2375, was sent back to the Technical Services Academy on Mars for Warrant Officer School. This was a big step for Gemma as warrant officers, being highly skilled with single-track specialties, are higher in the chain of command than all enlisted ranks, but lower than an Ensign. Either way, she would be jumping up the chain quite a bit and would assume a great amount of responsibility. She graduated Warrant Officer School in 2376 and was assigned to the USS Protean as the Chief Support Craft Pilot and as a training officer for shuttle craft. Her specialty was piloting all small craft, so her focus was there. But on occasion, she would fill in on the bridge in the pilot seat. |
